Mashlum of field beans & wheat

Fodder & forage for our herd:

Our fodder & forage system is based on grass and pastures that are predominantly used for grazing and sown with clover, fescue and rye-grass. There are also pastures that we cultivate with alfafa and/or purple clover which are cultivated for hay or silage for the winter. We produce and harvest several types of mashlum either bailed or as silage with a mixture of vetch, peas, field beans, triticale, barley and rye. The mashlum can also be harvested in grain form for the fattening of cattle or as a food supplement for calves.

Field beans are rich in protein which are very adapted to our soil here and provide a nutritionally balanced feed.

Our crop rotations, very important in organic farming, are compiled of pastures, wheat, barley, corn, oilseed rape, sunflowers, quinoa, field beans and mashlum. A large variety which allow us to offer our soils a long varied crop rotation, paramount for sustainable farming.
